Bell Book and Candle stars James Stewart, Kim Novak, and Jack Lemmon. Novak, a beautiful witch puts a love spell on an unaware publisher (Stewart) on Christmas Eve to get revenge on his fiance. The witch, who owns a shop called Bell Book and Candle, can’t fall in love with a mortal or she will lose her powers. This is a light hearted romantic comedy that is always fun to watch. Jack Lemmon steals the movie with his performance as Novak’s brother Nicky. The musical score written by George Duning is memorable and lends itself to the character of pyewacket, the cat.
