Quantum of Solace is the second 007 movie with Daniel Craig as Bond. I wish I could say this was as good as his first film as 007, Casino Royale but I can not. All the elements of every Bond film is here but it just doesn’t hit the mark. The story is at times confusing and towards the end seems rushed to find its ending. The action is good but the style of editing used is quick fast cuts which are suppose to increase the tension, instead you end up losing the action. Like Casino Royale this film is too long at 106 min. The violence is car chasing, guns (not too much blood though) and scenes of minor torture. There is a nude woman covered in oil after being killed and a bedroom scene with a semi nude woman and Bond. This is why Quantum of Solace is Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, and some sexual content. Definitely 13 and up on this one. mom scale ☆☆☆

Is there solace in revenge? Bond and “M” sniff a shadowy international network of power and corruption reaping billions. As Bond pursues the agents of an assassination attempt on “M,” all roads lead to Dominic Greene, a world-renowned developer of green technology. Greene, a nasty piece of work, is intent on securing a barren area of Bolivia in exchange for assisting a strongman stage a coup there. The CIA looks the other way, and only Bond, with help from a retired spy and from a mysterious beauty, stands in Greene’s way. “M” wonders if she can trust Bond, or if vengeance possesses him. Beyond that, can anyone drawn to Bond live to tell the tale?
I like your take on this second Craig film. I says similar things to mine. I agree with you that the classic Bond elements were so ineffective as to be barely there at all.
It was dark and gritty, and most of that came from Bond and not the “bad guys”. Who were the bad guys in that incomprehensible plot?
Here is my take (with pics). I think you will appreciate it:
